BREAKING: CNN says Pat Buchanan wrote a secret memo to get Dems to run a black in 72 to split Dem
party.

Very cynical in the extreme..

"lets pass out bumper stickers in the ghettos around the nation calling for a black candidate.. we want to at least get a black candidate in the #2 (VP) spot at their convention".

:eyes:

Uncle Pat .. what an evil SOB..

2. Was the secret memo written...
before or after Shirley Chisholm announced her candidacy for the president of the US? Some inquiring minds want to know, I suppose. B-)

"On January 25, 1972, she became the first major-party black candidate for President of the United States and the first woman to run for the Democratic presidential nomination (Margaret Chase Smith had previously run for the Republican presidential nomination). She received 152 first-ballot votes at the 1972 Democratic National Convention."

6. Nah. Not really interested.
I just wondering if Pat was in some way trying to take credit for Chisholm running for president in '72.

4. No surprise. Buchanan has always been a political thug. Why do you think Nixon hired him?
He fit right in with Liddy, Segretti, Chuck Colson, et al.
