Is it just me or is the media totally ignoring all the Palin stuff in that stupid book?

You know all that stuff about how John McCain and his campaign put the party over country and put us all at great risk making her the running mate. About how John McCain lied to the American people when he told them she was ready knowing that in fact she was not. About how this women should never be allowed anywhere near a political office again and that Fox "News" really is the best place for her.

I watched MSNBC and CNN as well as my local news yesterday and this morning, plenty of mentions of what Reid said, plenty of talk about Hillary and Bill Clinton, a lot of talk about John Edwards and what a bitch Elizabeth Edwards is. But no mention of what a disaster Palin would have been for our country had she been elected vice president other than on the liberal shows on MSNBC. So I figured the internet could be different, here are the political headlines right now on CNN.com:

- What will health care bill look like?
- Dems resist calls for Reid to resign
- Reid's political future
- Sarah Palin's TV deal a political sign?
- Reid apologizes for racial remarks
- Battle over TSA chief looms in Senate
- Barred man gets near Sebelius' office

I know what you're thinking maybe if you click on that Sarah Palin story about her Fox News deal some of the stuff in Game Change will be mentioned. You'll find you will be disappointed. I'll give credit to MSNBC. They don't have any headlines screaming "Palin's Mental Health Questioned" as they should but they atleast have a mention of this on a story about the book. How about Politico which all the media seems to love now a days. If you go there you'll see a huge banner about the allegations against Clinton as well as a top story about Reid, not a single mention of the Palin allegations. I figured I'd try one more, ABC News. Go to their site and the Reid comments are the top banner story. Again nothing on Palin.

How bout that damn liberal media.

2. 60 Minutes Focused on it
They barely mentioned the other stuff in the book, a little bit here and there about the Clintons and Obama but the vast majority was on Palin.

3. I saw pretty full coverage of the story when it broke.
Then the coverage stopped. Sarah Palin isn't important enough to extend the coverage. Soon, she'll just be another blabber on Fox.

4. This isn't about Sarah Palin. This is about the McCain campaign
and the conservative media that put this country in great danger. If John McCain had been elected there is a very likely chance she would have become president.

7. Probably the feeling is that it's been covered
If you follow the news at all you either a) think Sarah Palin is awesome or b) think that she's a compete incompetent and that McCain picking her was a collosal mistake and shows his poor judgement. Not many people who haven't taken a side on that one at this point, and those that haven't probably don't give a shit and never will.

So they're for the most part picking stories that they can fit into their current narrative, or make up a new one on current figures with old memes.

Obama is still president, so any story around race is going to get picked back up and focused on. Clinton is Sec.State so if they can they'll pick on her. Harry Reid is Sen.Maj.Leader so there ya go.

If somehow McCain had won, and Reid had left the senate, ALL they'd be talking about would be the Palin stuff in it and it'd be a massive thing. As it is, she's essentially a non-factor now, and it's old news.

11. But, you see, he wasn't elected, so it's only of historic
interest, really. It was an interesting story, and it was well-covered. Then, because there are stories that have direct, actual impact, it faded away. As it should have. Belaboring stories that are really just history is silly.

so why even bother mentioning it.

13. That was a story with a continuing presence because it
pointed out a security flaw and poses a certain risk that is ongoing.

Sarah Palin is a has-been, and poses an ongoing risk of nothing more than boredom.

15. So having someone that stupid get that close to the white house isn't a real risk in your opinion?
Edited on Tue Jan-12-10 12:45 PM by no limit
John McCain was willing to fuck this country over for his political aspirations and got very close to doing so with the help of many people that will continue to run political campaigns. And actually from what I saw McCain is still in the senate making policy decisions. I don't see how that's not a important story in your eyes.

16. Please read carefully. McCain/Palin LOST the election.
They LOST. And Sarah Palin was one of the reasons they LOST.

Sarah Palin is NOT the Vice President. She is in line for NOTHING. She is done. Finished. Washed Up. She is no longer newsworthy.

My word! We had George W. Fucking Bush as President for 8 years. Shall we expect the news to broadcast every story about what an shitty President he was? That's over.

Sarah Palin is only marginally a news story.

17. 2012 is right around the corner and Palin is considered one of the top republican contenders
If we have a story that comes out tomorrow about something fucked up that Bush did and we haven't heard of it yet then yes, that would or atleast should be a big story.

20. Right, because this same media that is shutting up now will expose her then
and if it's not her running then whoever is will have the same people advising him or her that put Palin on the McCain ticket or proceded with the cover up of her not being ready to be vice president.

But you are absolutely right, nothing to see here, lets all move along now.

6. It is not being ignored in the overseas media..
Sarah Palin campaign was a 'train wreck', insiders say

Race of a Lifetime, a new book by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin which is serialised in The Times this week, reveals that advisers to John McCain were taken aback by how little Mrs Palin knew about politics and history when she was confirmed as Mr McCain's Republican running mate after a cursory, 12-hour selection process

8. Smart, rises to the top. Stupid, falls to the bottom.
even the moron repukes understand this.

Rather than give anymore credence to her moronic utterings, they choose to ignore.

Better to say nothing then say something stupid. And that book is nothing but the manual on stupid.

9. HELLO! That would mean actually READING the piece of shit!
I know the media generally doesn't bother to read things they report on, but reading Palin's ghost written book ranks directly below reading "The Fecal Man's Guide To Cat Box Dining".

Its got a lot of insider info about the 2008 campaign and Palin came off looking really bad in it.

last night, there was scarcely a word about Palin in the book. The news was all about race and Bill Clinton and Harry Reid. And, of course, John Edwards.

For that matter, her being batshit crazy is only news if you spent the last year and a half on Mars.

23. Fox and Sarah perfectly timed the announcement of her gig
with them to replace the buzz over the 60 Minutes interview and the revelations in the book. We all know this deal has been in the works for months. The timing can't be anything but purposeful.
