Let's at least be consistent. Lots of people pooh-poohed recent trade deficit REDUCTIONS as bad signs that we could "not even afford cheap Chinese shit any more" or because our dollar was worthless so we could export some stuff.
So the dollar is still low but the trade deficit increased. Explain whether you see this as good or bad news and explain why you are consistent or inconsistent in this opinion if you would. If you see both movements as bad news, how can you reconcile that? If you see both as good news, the same? If you prefer it to go one way or the other are you happy or not? For those who read/think below the headline same questions for China specifically too.
