Got to catch Hartmann's segment with Siegelmann. Again, speaking to truth.
Once again I find myself wondering how and why Bush and Cheney can possibly be getting away with murder, literally - murder in an illegal war. Once again I find myself wondering why Obama, who ran on change, is allowing so many of the Bush directives stand - like warantless wiretapping. Once again I find myself wondering why we are going to end up with the HCR that we are - so watered down, so different from what Obama said he wanted during the campaign.

Time can go by, we can all get outraged by things like the Halperin book and Reid misstatements - but the ugly truth is that this is indeed NOT the change that we expected, and more importantly, that the country - and the world - need.

5. allowing Bush directives to stand
I am so disappointed in Obama.

I was sure a Constitutional Law Professor would not allow all the unconstitutional precedents Bush set to last more than five minutes into his Presidency.

That he did not do that makes me consider the possibility his whole Presidency is a scam. With creds like his, he should know better.

6. I don't understand the Justice Dept. foot-dragging on the Siegelman case.
Especially after they were so quick to overturn the conviction of Ted Stevens. In my opinion, the prosecutor misconduct in Siegelman's trial was at least as egregious, and many former attorneys general agree.

Also, can anyone tell me why Leura Canary, the U.S. Attorney who prosecuted Siegelman, still has her job? Don't new presidents normally appoint new U.S. Attorneys after taking office? I know Bush did. Are the appointments being blocked by Republicans?
