He breaks down describing that this is the most horrific thing he's ever seen. Says it is unimaginable and he's seen some terrible things in his time.

3. I agree. Instead of killing people we should be helping people.

We would have more money and resources to help Haiti and other countries of the world prevent and recover from disasters if we were not engaged in wars of choice in Afghanistan and Iraq. It is not politics. It is the cold, hard facts. In California last summer we could not adequately fight the fires in southern California because we did not have the funds, and our national guard and its equipment were off at war. These trade-offs regarding war are real and have real consequences.

That said, I hope our country will be generous and do everything we can to help the people of Haiti.
