8. In fairness,

our response to the Tsunami disaster was swift and similar to the one being afforded to Haiti. We're pretty efficient when it comes to handling aid overseas. That's probably one of the few things an empire is good at. However, while it focuses much of its attention elsewhere, it leaves little attention to its own homeland i.e. NOLA. I enthusiastically applaud 100% this administration's actions and response time, but I think I'll reserve a NOLA comparison until another natural disaster, god forbid, hits us here at home.

21. Quick Reminder

Just wanted to weigh in right quick, and remind many that have been solely focused on Afghanistan and Iraq, that: Just like during Katrina, but on a larger level, forces are being mobilized ASAP, to go help in Haiti. It is and has been rarely acknowledged, the many and various roles our service members play, regardless of the two concurrent wars. This fact serves to underscore our recruiting efforts, for those that constantly contend that we just send service members into a grinder, and that there are scores of missions ongoing that have much more at stake than the constant refrain, "resource superiority, oil pipelines" etc. This is only one of many visible humanitarian events that take place on a constant basis.
