Their government seems to have failed them completely and international help has not arrived yet. I just donated to Doctors Without Boarders. I hope we can help soon.

1. I gave to the ifrc last night...
and it's just not enough. The pictures I'm seeing online are agonizing and it makes one feel so helpless.

3. They had a DWB spokesperson on NPR today and he was saying...
that all of the hospitals in Port Au Prince and the surrounding areas have collapsed. They have no place to help people and can only triage the injured.

2. Their govt is doing what it can
in the face of massive devastation, and international help is already there.

4. Their government doesn't seem to be able to much. Look at the reports coming out.
Do you see any Haitian troops in the streets, digging, doing anything? Every report I have seen says the rescue efforts are basically neighbors and families digging with their hands and shovels.

8. They are now reporting on CNN that there is virtually no Haitian Gov response.
It looks like any help will have to come from the outside. The Haitian Government is notoriously corrupt from the top to the bottom. It is usually considered one of the most corrupt in the world.

Sad, but pretty much true.

9. I'm sure they cashed out and left these poor people to die.
What a nightmare. We (the United States/United Nations) will have to take over and put it back together or hundreds of thousands of people will suffer and die.

10. Well Haiti's govt was installed by a foreign country,
not Haitians.
