CNN Poll - Most Opposition Is From People Who Say HCR Bills Are Too Liberal

The folks on this board who point to opposition to the bill as a reason for revising it often suggest that the key is to make the bill even more liberal. However, 39 percent oppose it for being too liberal.

4. Well, Here is Gallup Poll Re How People Characterize Their Political Beliefs

This gallup poll may explain the results of the CNN poll. By this measure, you have to give a lot of credit to President Obama that he has been able to push the initiatives he has despite the historically large contingent of the population that identifies itself as "conservative." My personal take is that most "moderates" are actually liberals that simply are turned off by the corporate media fed negative connotations of the "liberal" label, but even that is notable that so many liberals shun the label of liberal.
