I just watched Idiocracy again, and
right after the movie I ran across this quote from Steve Schmidt in Politico (via Salon and Raw Story):

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0110/31335.html

Schmidt declined to say whether he would again urge McCain to tap Palin but said that she ended up helping more than hurting.

“I believe, had she not been on the ticket, our margin of defeat would’ve been greater than it would’ve been otherwise,” he said.

Soooo, if I'm reading this right Schmidt's implication is that somebody that is more Sarah Palin than Sarah Palin would have improved their chances of winning the election.

The GOP craves electrolytes...

5. I still contend that movie is a horror flick, not a comedy.
It's frighteningly prescient.

9. Read the source material, "The Marching Morons" by CM Kornbluth
Widely anthologized, or find it in "His Share of Glory." It's bleaker and closer to reality.
