If ever there were a time for the American media to call the crazies out and strike at the roots the crazy tree has put down, now is the time:

American televangelist Pat Robertson has blamed the devastating earthquake in Haiti on a pact between the impoverished nation's founders and the devil.

It is feared that up to 100,000 people may have lost their lives when the magnitude 7.0 earthquake flattened massive areas of the capital Port-au-Prince yesterday.

So this is "Christian Charity" in action, huh? In the face of possibly a hundred thousand lost souls, this is what our Christian leaders have to say? This is the ideology of the sick, demented and power hungry. This is the ideology of a predator, not a shepherd of souls. This is the kind of ideology that says, "the powerful do what they can and the weak suffer what they must." This is not the peace of Christ, or his apostles. This is not the meek inheriting the Earth, but the powerful whipping up fear, anger and hatred, a sickening bit of 'otherization' and it makes me want to puke.

Any sane, religious, spiritual or person of conscience should be deeply mortified at the loss of life and utterly outraged at this insult to our common humanity.

Shut them up. Expose their lies. Turn the truth of their lies into mantras.

Repeat the names of the liars, their lie, then the truth.
