Because you are going to get your costs reduced and your salary increased! Aren't you the lucky duckies!

Unions are stupid for protesting against these taxes. What idiots.

5. Give me a public option, no lower middle income taxes and no stupid abortion gimmicks
And I could be happy. Also no ensign clause.

3. Apparently health care benefits were going to be targeted no matter who won.
There was no escaping it.

4. we have a 'cadillac' plan and hubby and I agree we don't mind paying the tax EXCEPT
we want to see a public option growing up from our contribution

we're not pleased that we'll be paying a tax for basically nothing....

6. The policy wonks say you won't actually be paying this tax
Because the purpose is to get insurance companies to keep costs under the limit. Then you will get a commensurate raise in pay. It is this mechanism of increasing your pay that will generate most of the revenue from the tax.

It's kind of a game of chicken.

7. how will he get a pay raise? they just renegotiated the union contract
and wages won't be addressed again for two years......

it's interesting that health care benefits weren't included in the union negotiations tho.... so any savings from 'health care reform' will go straight into the corp. profits column

8. That is the argument the unions are making and why they think the logic behind
The tax is faulty. This pay increase scenario is the one arrived at by ivory tower economist types. Real life union negotiators think it is pie in the sky

9. You are CORRECT and the Krugmans are full of it
We are in the biggest wage DEFLATION and there will be no raises to cover it. And the health care premiums will keep sky rocketing just like they have been.
