W and Clinton to work together
Look folks at this point I don't care who gathers the funds that will be needed. I know for some Bush is the devil, and he is... and there are plenty of good reasons (political that is) that Junior is doing this.

You really think that will help to change the opinion most of us have of Junior? But if he can help raise one dollar to help, I'll take it. As the saying goes, if the devil himself is the one offering water to a dying man...

And I hate it when people politicize disaster response and delivery.

Oh and trust me, after the first month, once actual reconstruction begins, there will be plenty of politics to play with ok.

1. W has a lot of making up to do to get out of the basement.
If he can raise some money then good but I don't see any Nobel Peace Prizes in his future.

6. He gets no points for this -- he had to be asked. And I bet he's pissed about it.
If he truly cared about people, he would have taken care of the Katrina victims.

But put him to work, take his money. He owes humanity.

18. But isn't this one way to hit on the republicans
If they love bush as much as they say they do, they can't say no now can they.

4. without Bush, we would only appeal to half of the country
In the past it was Bush Sr. and Clinton - a president to reach out to both sides of the country. Obviously Bush Sr. is in poor health to do this anymore and well Jr, perhaps he can see how to do it right the first time.

17. I can't help but picturing him as a surly, resentful teen whose parents have
dragged him to a boring function. I wonder if he can pull this off.

7. And anybody who thinks Jr. will be "managing the money" is just nuts.
He'll help RAISE funds, sure. But no way will BC allow Jr. to "manage" anything.

He ruined the country and killed millions of innocent people! He shouldn't show his face.

11. Call it "community service."
Clinton's foundation is helping already, and we know he is going to do whatever he can to help.

As for georgie, remember, he had to do community service after his cocaine bust back in the 70's (even if the record was later scrubbed).

Let's just call this "community service" for a small fraction of his crimes against humanity. I think President Obama did a wise thing in putting him to work at something worthwhile for a change.

An added bonus is that you can bet it chaps georgie's hide something awful that his corrupt, privileged, WASP ass is being ordered around by a black man. It's not full justice by any means, but it is a drop or two in the bucket.

12. And who will be profiting off of the Shrub's "largess"
That is my problem with this. I don't trust this son of a bitch to actually do any real charity work. Who's profiting and what is that person's relationship to the Shrub? Because if Bush is involved SOMEBODY is profiting.

14. good move from Obama - politics have no place in this emergencyt
Asking junior to help was the right move. To work with WJC and reach out for help.

Absolutely the correct move.

And junior should be given credit for any money raised - and hours dedicated to this effort. Much as I dislike him - I will speak kindly of him for his help.
