Here is a message from our church about Haiti and their missionaries...
Maybe you saw the reports on local TV news stations about Haiti and our Church's involvement with Christianville. Jim Liberatore, one of our church members, and a board member of Christianville, was even considering trying to go down and help out, although it may just be impossible right now. Christianville was just two miles from the epicenter of the earthquake. I would like to ask that along with your regular offering this week, you make a special donation to Haiti, through Christianville. All the missionaries are safe, but they are in the midst of tremendous devastation all around them. Giving this way assures two things:

  • 1) Every penny will go to relief in Haiti. There is not an "administrative" fee, nor does the government there get a "cut," before distributing it, and
  • 2) The care will be administered in the name and love of Christ. You can write "Haiti" on your check or offering envelope, and that money will go to Christianville to help with relief efforts.

2. This atheist says that may not necessarily be true..
Other than weddings and funerals I haven't been in a church in at least forty years, there are some religious charities that are every bit as efficient and nondiscriminating as the best secular ones.

3. I should have put a disclaimer on it, It wasn't posted to draw donations
Rather a report from the epicenter of the quake. Literally.

I do know for a fact that the church is active in the said location.
