Rush Limbaugh Boycott: Where is the public pressure?
With his latest statement regarding the Haiti natural disaster, when are Americans going to rally against this type of hate?

4. It will just enhance his credibility with the rabid right...
Although maybe we could write letters to his sponsors...

8. Been There, Done That...
Only a portion of the time on Rushbo's swillfest is sold to national advertisers...many who are run by right wing shitstains who only cater to dittoheads and other suckers. The other part is sold locally...and this is where any boycott could have affect. Nothing gets a radio station sales manager's attention than a call from an irate sponsor with dozens of protestors on his doorstep.

That said, I'm still looking for the last time a boycott was effective...especially in this age of "too big to fail". Most broadcast corporations, and Premier is no different, is the subsidiary of a larger corporation...Cheap Channel that will divert money from other subsidiaries to cover any losses...this is what Faux is doing with Dreck...turning him into a loss leader.

Many of the stations that air this bile are owned by the companies that are paying Rushbo the big bucks. He is cheap programming in the middle of the day...far easier that to hire a live body (and probably another right wing asshat). The problem is the lack of local radio ownership where programming decisions are made in the corporate boardrooms and rushbo is their boy.

9. I guess I sort of wonder what this guy
has to do or say to get the plug pulled on him. I remember after 9/11 Bill Maher lost his show because he had the audacity to state that the 9/11 hijackers weren't cowards.

But Limpballs says far worse. This isn't about free speech. He is entitled to say whatever he wants. He can right books, write letters to the editor voicing his comtempt for those who currently hold power in DC. He can stand on a fucking soap box in Time Square and spew his hate. But he is not entitled to a radio show. That's not part of the First Ammendment.

Seriously, for all that is good in our country, it is time for him to go.

12. Well, he is broadcasting over the public airwaves
and stations do have to renew their licenses - there can certainly be challenges as to whether airing that garbage is broadcasting in the public interest.

10. Great idea, but it would be hard to boycott a show I've never heard.

11. Half of them agree and hang on his every word.
The right wing fascists are now free to spout their mantra of hate and greed out loud thanks to their leaders Limbaugh, Beck and Ron Paul.

14. Get the word out about Limpballs! Everyone send blow up dolls by the hundreds to the radio station
Everyone could send hundreds of boxes blowup dolls to his radio station oh wait that would only make him miserable happy. We need a campaign to send at least 10 letters per person to his vile pit of a radio station on the same day, we need something to get the attention of who ever this money hungry idiot that owns the station.
