Minnesota Twins stadium to recycle rainwater
Source: Green Technology Daily

The Twins have worked to make their new ballpark, Target Field, an environmentally friendly venue by announcing a unique eco-sponsorship that will help them to reduce water waste.

Target Field will feature a first-of-its-kind Rain Water Recycle System (RWRS) that will capture, conserve and reuse rain water. The system is estimated to reduce the need for municipal water at Target Field by over 50 percent, which should equate to saving more than 2 million gallons of water annually.

1. Excellent.
It would be great if other sports venues adopted this technolgoy - in particular, golf courses.

4. Although Houston hasn't done anything like it that I know of,
(mainly because we get so much rain I would bet) Reliant Stadium did use a form of porous paving called grasspave. It's a pretty cool bit of eco-tech, too :)

9. Hello? "Land of 10,000 Lakes"...
Water here is for drinking... And swimming... And boating... And fishing... And skiing... And tubing...

It's out West that people fight over water.

7. Well, I Guess It's A Step In The Right Direction
still, nothing will make me forgive the Twins for bribing the state legislators to force ONE county to pay with an increased sales tax for the ballpark they didn't want in the first place. I don't even think the water that they'll save the city will ever be enough to recoup what they stole.

10. It's bad enough we had to pay for the stadium -
I suppose this is the Twins' way of justifying making us pay for a stadium without a retractable roof.

I wonder if they'll be able to recycle snow as well.
