For those of you who may not know, several months back I posted about severe financial difficulties my family and I were facing. I was extremely blessed to have several DU'ers out of the kindness of their hearts step up and donate small amounts to my family to help through the turbulent times. It is amazing to me the generosity of an individual to chip in to help out a perfect stranger and his family. I will say even though my father is still unemployed and looking for work, I can say the myself and my mother are extremely fortunate to have jobs right now even given that my job only pays $6 an hour. To me it is a sad day in America when our nations youth who have so much potential knowing that the sky is the limit, settles for a job making that little of money for two simple reasons- the dignity of having a job is what keeps me feeling like I am doing something and secondly even being able to give my parents any little bit I can to help with the cost of food, utilities, rent, etc., to me its the absolute least I could do.
I cannot lie, things are still pretty bad financially right now for my family, yet I believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and hopefully the end is near.
You know, one thing that keeps me going is the random acts of kindness of individuals here on DU who even though they may not have been able to donate monetarily, let me know that my family is in their thoughts and prayers, that is awesome! To me, it restores my faith in humanity, knowing that there are good people in this world, that if given the ability, would help out a perfect stranger. I want to Thank the entire DU community for your support!
To me, DU is more than a forum full of individuals that share the same beliefs not only politically, but realistically. We are more of a family than a forum, and we all watch out for each other, I wouldn't want it any other way.
Thank All of You So Much
