The Stupids step out: DSCC ad in MA used WTC as symbol of greed

A new ad from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee usesan unlikely symbol of Wall Street greed: The World Trade Center.

The image in the attack on Scott Brown for his alleged closeness to Wall Street pictures the Trade Center and the destroyed Marriott Hotel on its western side.

A National Republican Senatorial Committee spokesman, Brian Walsh, attacked its use.

“Using the image of a site where over 2,700 Americans died in a terrorist attack to distort Scott Brown’s position on regulating Wall Street is both distasteful and disrespectful. Martha Coakley should immediately renounce this ad and call for it to be removed from the airwaves," he said.

A spokesman for the DSCC, Eric Schultz, said the image should not have appeared in the ad, and that it was being pulled and aired with a different image.

1. OMG! Tell me there aren't people TRYING to engineer a Dem loss
How stupid could the DSCC be? I mean really. No, I mean REALLY. How does a mistake of that magnitude get made? NO ONE noticed the WTC?! This just strains all credulity. Did a 13 year old intern design the ad

9. Maybe the DSCC decided Coakley is "too liberal"
they're the ones who put the ad out.

On the other hand, the fact that there are idiots at the DSCC is hardly surprising.

6. In another ad broadcasted after the debates...
Massachusetts was misspelled. Yes indeed someone needs to get fired.

7. Interns and unpaid volunteers, with no adult supervision.
I saw lots of this in the Franken campaign. Lots of naiveté and inexperience and too little oversight on the part of people who knew what they were doing.

It's so tempting to use college kids to do the websites, flyers and brochures. It's such a bad idea to let them do it without professionals supervising. Every website with poor content, flyer with misspellings, and brochures with stupid stock photos costs votes.

College kids have lots of time and energy, but not the needed knowledge and experience in many cases.

8. I didn't see that ad...
and, hopefully, not many other voters here saw it either. I did see the one with Massachusetts misspelled.

And, yeah, someone needs to be fired. There is no excuse for this kind of stupidity.
