Weiner Pops Ford's Trial Balloon
Rachel Slajda | January 14, 2010, 10:08AM

Former Tennessee Rep. Harold Ford Jr. (D) is taking a lot of heat as he considers a primary challenge against Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), especially after a New York Times interview in which he said, among other things, that he had only visited the outer boroughs of New York City by helicopter.

It wasn't long before Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY), always good for a dig at political opponents, weighed in.

"If he thinks that its an appealing argument to position yourself as being somebody who will stand up to Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer, well I don't think we need another Joe Lieberman," Weiner told Politico.

"Maybe when his helicopter lands in Queens next I can ask him," he said.

2. I still want the primary.
Sorry, but Gillibrand is an appointee. Let's have at least the pretense of, you know, democracy.

9. Right. Once she runs in the primary.
And I'm fine with that. I have no plans to vote for Ford. But if Gillibrand doesn't need my vote in the primary, she doesn't need it in the general. I will leave it blank rather than have my party steal my vote.

4. We could do that...but let's have an actual Democrat challenge her
Take the worst DINO we have and make him twice as Republican as before, and you've got Harold Ford.

5. We thought of that but Obama, DNC and NYS party
>>>.We could do that...but let's have an actual Democrat challenge her>>>>

won't have it. ( Rep. McCarthy, Rep. Maloney, others, all backed off when pressured.)

Gillebrand is a nonentity and Ford is worse.

Since they won't have a primary, I'll end up voting Green unless the election looks real close.

10. Yep. I'd like a real race, too.
But the idea that we can even give up the pretense of democratic process? Like the way they stole my levers? No. They can go to hell if they try to pull that crap on me.

8. Yes, dear. I do.
I want the chance to vote for my party's choice.

Please carefully examine your objections to that.
