Does anyone know why Scott Simon of NPR needs spinal surgery?
He mentioned it in his weekly chat with Dan Schorr, and that he will be back in February. Hope it's not too serious.

In response to q's re: my surgery: neck of my spine. Docs call that cervix. Not about to say I'm having cervical surgery, though!

Unclear whether his neck problem is deformative, degenerative, or the result of an injury such as a car accident.
