How can we believe anything from the DoD?
The tragic situation of lies and concealment around Pat Tillman's death (link below) makes me wonder if anything from the DoD can be trusted? Why not assume it's all subject to the BushCo regime's propaganda machine? From casualty counts to length of deployments to measures of military success or failure in Iraq.

How dare our commanders politicize the death of a remarkable young man named Pat Tillman!? We hear those who covered up the truth will be subject to "corrective action." Would not a civilian that knowingly covered up an accidential (or wrongful) death then lie about it be charged - at the very least - with obstruction of justice?

Where is the justice for the American people and the Tillman family? Who is being held accountable? WHO?

They're the defenders of the corporate kleptocracy. Trust nothing they say.

Back in the days when my dad was trying to convince me to join ROTC or the National Guard so he wouldn't have to pay my tuition (not that he did), he used to tell me that the military needed journalism majors. He said I could "be the person who tells the world about the ship we didn't blow up, the bombs we didn't drop, and the people we didn't kill." He did multiple tours in the Marines and then the Army, and knows what he's talking about.
