This business of burning human beings...
...with napalm, of filling our nation's homes with orphans and widows, of injecting poisonous drugs of hate into veins of people normally humane, of sending men home from dark and bloody battlefields physically handicapped and psychologically deranged, cannot be reconciled with wisdom, justice and love. A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

(Thanks to David Swanson for the quote.)

5. Yes, of course there is, aquart. But that's not what he was referring to.

2. Thanks CW. Martin was a seer. He knew how close to the end, or fork in the road, we were
when he sacrificed himself.

4. My hope is for everybody to get burned by unrecs so that we all know they are meaningless.
I didn't unrec this thread, by the way.

And I don't think we should get rid of unrec because it makes DU the best online game EVAR!

7. As we watch the members of our military providing this critical aid to the Haitians,
it makes me yearn for the day when our priorities will be for our military to assist in HELPING other nations rather than in subjugating them.

Excellent post, ClassWarrior. Thank you.
