I just got my Illinois absentee ballot

and the political parties of the candidates are not written next to their names! So I have to look up the candidates of every election on the net to vote. Why did they change this? The political parties used to be on the ballot.

I believe you should just be receiving a dem or republican ballot. You have to choose which party's ballot to get.

I must still be registered as a Democrat. Although I do vote Green often, I registered as a Democrat because they are the party that has the best odds to beat the villianous Republicans.

5. any ideas for Governor? or Lieutenant Gov?

Quin or Hynes for governor? who is the most progressive? i have reasearch to do.

7. You might want to write in Blagojevich. He couldn't do any worse than them.

I plan to flip a coin in the primary, and consider all of the choices in the general election (can we say Green here?) for governor, if I even vote in that race.

The Republican primary for governor has the biggest joke. He's the former Chairman of the Illinois Republican Party, but his frequent ads tell us that he's the only candidate in the race who's not an insider. And with his personal wealth, he'll probably be the next Governor.

To answer your question though, IMHO, Quinn is the more caring of the two, Hynes the more ambitious. But if you rubbed their two brains together, I doubt you'd come up with a single new idea or solution to any of the many problems in Illinois.

6. The Name Is Spelt HOFFMAN...

He's the Progressive in the Senate race... A lot of us here are chomping to kick out Toddler Stroger...and have donated money to Julie Stamos in the 10th Cong. District.

I'm in Illinois but haven't voted absentee or seen a ballot in 30 years, but I would suspect if its a Democratic Primary, all the candidateson that ballot are Democrats. I'll be at the polls on Feb. 2...but I think it's a good thing if it made you look up the candidates and learn about who they are.
