who said that all of the right wing "pundits" who usually follow Limbaugh in lock step in whatever he says have been silent on this one. It seems like he is out there alone. There are lines even he can't cross. Nothing is going to mitigate what he said or says with the images from Haiti seared into people's brains. He has shown himself to be a know nothing racist and a sadist to boot. I hope he loses his show and doesn't let the door hit his big butt on the way out.

Love that series of books and the original movie. Speaks to humanity in all its glory and ills and its convuluted way of organizing itself. Brilliantly constructed mirror to all that is hideous about power and faith.

13. Oh, I love it.

I'm in the middle of reading it all over again, including the prequels and the tweeners by Herbert's son and that other guy, and doing it in chronological order. Slightly jarring when switching styles from the son to the father and back, but the story is so rich and the characters are so alive in my imagination that it's not all that difficult to get past.

Baron Harkonnen is such a sledgehammer metaphor for everything wrong with the 'civilized' human animal and the comparison to Mr Limbaugh could not be more apt.
