By the way, I don't know whether CNN checks this sort of stuff or not,
but sometimes, there's a slight advantage to typing in the link yourself
or using a bookmark that you have stored:

Because of the way browsers and web servers operate, any time you
click on a link, the new page you're opening up can see the URL (address)
of the page that you came from. This is called the "referrer". (That is, you
were referred to the new page by the old page.) So if you click on my link
in this post, CNN will not only know that you came here from a link at
Democratic Underground, they'll even know which post and which reply
contained the link.

For an internet poll, that might provide some interesting data. For example,
if everyone coming from DU selects Coakley, and everyone coming from
Free Republic selects Brown, the pollster might know to chuck those votes
away. This sort of data (about voting patterns and poll-manipulation by
political websites) might even persist into future polls.

Just something to think about...
