PhRMA = The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America
Why is it that big drug companies feel the need to advertise against any changes to Medicare Part D?

I hope people aren't stupid enough to believe that a big drug company, which stands lose lots of profits if the Medicare drug benefit is changed, has their best interests in mind.

1. When someone runs expensive ads like those, you know they're not doing it for your good.

Honestly, they're not!

I would've thought that people would've seen through that back in the day with the "Harry and Louise" health insurance ads.

If something is sponsored by industry, and it has to be sold that hard and that expensively, it's because it's NOT GOOD FOR US! And they're lying!

2. Are they fighting letting the government negotiate prices?
That was my hunch. But instead of saying that, they are using the words "program changes" to make people think they'll lose their benefits. That's my guess too.

4. Yep, whenever you hear them argue against it...
you know it's probably good for you and bad for them.

3. Because they were the writers of that legislation for their benefit
and they don't want any changes.
