A new InsiderAdvantage poll conducted exclusively for POLITICO shows Republican Scott Brown surging to a 9-point advantage over Martha Coakley a day before Massachusetts voters trek to the ballot box to choose a new senator.
According to the survey conducted Sunday evening, Brown leads the Democratic attorney general 52 percent to 43 percent.
"I actually think the bottom is falling out," said InsiderAdvantage CEO Matt Towery, referring to Coakley's fall in the polls over the last ten days. "I think that this candidate is in freefall. Clearly this race is imploding for her."

8. Well, it may be a bad poll, but I think he's going to win

Even Nate Silver is giving him a 3:1 chance of winning.

I just came back from making phone calls to MA from the OFA northside offices in Chicago. It was not so uplifting. I had one woman who totally bit my head off, saying Martha Coakley is acting like a bitch, and though she's been a solid Democrat her whole life, she doesn't think she can vote for her. Cause she's bitchy? I had hangups, and a few who said they were voting for Brown. And of course, I did get some Coakley supporters, too. But remember, these were lists of people who voted Dem in the 2008 elections--all of them. I was pretty depressed.

That said, I was pretty depressed last year when we went to Jackson, MI (birthplace of the Republican Party), a down-and-out former blue-collar manufacturing town with half the homes foreclosed. I had people spit racist epithets into my face, who shouted anti-Muslim comments, and of course, the few supporters. We won Jackson, MI.

I hope I'm wrong. But I think Brown is going to win. And that's not a referendum on goddam anything except that voters are irrational.
