It's intersting to see how events like the Haiti disaster brings out the hatred in people!

Over the past few days I've seen countless people all over the place spouting hate filled messages about Haiti. Everything from the simple "why the fuck should I care" to "they deserve it" or "brought this on themselves" or "if they can't look after themselves why should I help them". You see these are the people who would have been helping out the Nazi cause during WWII. Relatively few Germans actively resisted the Nazis or helped to hide Jews because to do so takes more courage that the average person has. But there was also a segment of the population which actively helped the Nazis. These people are in every day society walking around on the streets, you just don't know who they are. Brief flashes of light like the disaster in Haiti and other major events though help to illuminate them from time to time.

I see the red helmeted Turks digging with the yellow-helmeted Floridians. The Spanish, the Irish, the Israelis, (and the Saudis speaking arabic with the Israelis), the Peruvians, the French, and more countries than I've heard mentioned have sent their best to save Haitian lives.

I see millions of dollars being donated from the pockets of people with much less than before, to help the people of Haiti.

But all you notice is hatred? Why would you waste a second on such worthlessness?

I feel equally disgusted by the number of people who spout hatred at times like this, of all the possible times!
