Advice to any/all Dems running for office in 2010 (feel free to add your own)
It's already 2010 and the election day is Tuesday, November 2nd. So be prepared to start campaigning before Halloween.

If your state/district has a sports team, start reading the sports section daily and be prepared to wear ballcaps advocating for above said team. (see Obama)

Even if you have no intention of working to forward Progressive ideals, campaign on them, it works.

Do not wait until a week before the election to ask Obama to come to a rally on your behalf.

When your opponent attacks you, RESPOND IN KIND

6. You're in a position of caring for others bottom line
Why do we elect officials to begin with, to care for us in ways we can't do for ourselves. The conservatives/republicans/libertarians have it backwards. They do everything to "not care" and undo and stand in the way. If these democrats "give em hell" about this, they'll win. Look at Grayson.

7. damn skippy
Here's the scoop:

If you are a republican and you say you'll vote FOR same sex marriage, and "my" democrat says states rights, I'll vote for THAT republican in a heartbeat. note I did not say I'd switch parties.

We vote for leadership that aligns with our interests. And delete the term "special interests" from your vocabulary. Our interests typically overlap with entire ethical systems: person vs. corporation, right to self-determination vs. rights of the community, environment vs. third world, human rights vs. economic interests.

That about sums it up. Pick a side and lead, unequivocably.

and the Republicans can't find anyone to run against him.
Nuff' said.
