5. Weather Will Be A Non-Factor...

This is too high profile an election...one a precinct captain around here would call a "Wild Horses" election. The weather is more a factor when you have a "boring" election...low profile where the weather makes a convenient excuse. The "Wild Horse" races usually mean both parties are humping the phones and out driving the vans...making sure their people come out.

If the folks in Massetchussets are like the ones around here, a little snow is nothing...and by that I mean anything short of a 10-inch sudden dump. With the temps near 30, the weather should be a non-factor here. It's all down to GOTV...who can get the most of their voters to the polls. We shall find out in just a few short hours.

6. This reminds me of people who get the right to vote and will walk for days or risk their lives

to cast their ballots. Here it seems that no reason is too small or insignificant to avoid going to the polls. Sad.

One time, and that was about 10 years ago. You'd reckon I'd have been called 6 or 8 times by now.

sometimes I get called twice a year and then I have to fill out the form and tell them I met my yearly requirement.

Years back before I became a voter, I got called for jury duty. They use various sources, like census and DMV records...specifically, car registrations.

At the time I was called, like I said, I was not a voter. Had not filled out any census stuff in a long time because I had moved around quite a bit. The only thing I DID do was have a car registered in my name.

13. Not as dramatic, but...

Mr Pipi and I did risk our safety today by going out in a snowstorm. In the city it wouldn't be a huge issue...out here, rurally, it's often foolish to chance going out in a storm.

Today the dirt roads were not plowed or sanded. We live at around 1300 feet elevation, had to climb up to 1500 feet, then down about 700 feet on the other side of the hill to get to town.

And then back again.

if it were not so important, I'd have preferred not to go out under those conditions...
