1. I certainly hope so
I can't stand long, drawn out election battles.

8. Might not know for sure...big absentee....
Not sure how MA handles these...But it's my understanding people were still picking them up last week. If it's close we wait.

12. Mass. absentee ballots
are brought to the polls and commingled with today's votes during the day. i know, i've poll checked in mass before. the only absentee ballots that we will have to wait for are overseas, military ballots which are 10 days wait. If it's that close, we could have a drawn out count. but that means the election is within 2,000 votes, or one tenth of one percent of 1.6 to 2.2 million (the secy of state's est).

2. Does it matter if we don't know tonight?
Why is it that so many people now practically expect instant results when it comes to elections?

3. Depends on how close it is.
and if one side or the other demands a recount.

4. If he's ahead and it's close - then they'll drag this out with a recount
So that the Senate can get HCR done before this mess is finished. We're close to finishing HCR and Kirk keeps his senate seat until a winner is declared.

5. I hope we DON'T
Because if it's over early... it's likely bad news.

"Too close to call" means that our voters showed up. Just as importantly, it means that absentee voting could make a difference (and most of those were cast before the wave of "Brown is surging" news).

6. I don't know but I'll tell you something
The rightwingers will lose their minds if Brown wins a close one and the Democrats hold off seating him through any legal challenge or delay.

Nevermind how many months Norm Coleman held up Franken--they loved that.

Suddenly they'll be all for seating the winner promptly.

10. If this turns out like Franken did for Brown $10 says the democrats cave
and seat him as soon as possible.
