to Corzine

If Coakley had a double-digit lead, and lost it, then a lot has to fall on the way she ran her campaign, and her staff

1. Not entirely.. the crappy health care bill and the bail out for banks instead of working people
are key to why she lost..

Of course it doesn't help that she doesn't have a clue about the Red Sox.

12. "Why she lost" You know something we don't? Polls just closed
so calling it for Brown is a bit premature, isn't it? That, or wishful thinking the repuke wins.

17. Yeah right, that's why you're rooting for another member of the failure party
like all the other naysayers here at DU.

Btw, we know what you are.

2. If Coakley loses it will be the fault of the DLC/Party leadership for pushing corporate candidates

3. Corzine lost because he was a CEO of Gold Mansacks.
Which is why I can't find a lot of sympathy for him (though I do send my condolences to the people of New Jersey)

4. I agree. Coakley was NOT a good candidate. Her campaign was weak.
I want to believe she will win, but it's not looking good. Coakley made a lot of mistakes and the blue collar Catholics didn't connect with her.

11. Yup
While I won't say that national politics didn't affect the race, if Coakley loses almost all of the blame will lay with her and her staff for running a crappy campaign. She took a break after the primary, said a number of things that hurt her in the press and flew off to DC less then a week before the election for a fundraiser with hospitals, drug companies and health insurance companies.

13. Okee dokee..
... and when the midterms are equally disastrous, that will be solely the fault of the individual candidates.

when he lost the same two governorships that Obama "lost" ... and that was the election right after 9/11/2001 ...

19. It was due to a number of factors, Coakley was one, Obama's direction is another
Edited on Thu Jan-21-10 01:17 PM by Tailormyst
And there are a few more issues that factored in beyond that.

There is alot of blame to go around.
