38. You can STFU yourself...liberals didn't come out and vote and you don't know that those 22% of Dems
were progressives, in fact they were much more likely to be conservative Dems who fit into the "Reagan Dem" mold.

Give up already you lost and the corporatist DLC Dems are why we lost.

A vote for Brown was seen as a vote against the status quo--even though the Repubs brought us to what is known as the status quo.

44. yeah, well I'm a progressive
and I've stated here that I would have voted for Coakley, even though I don't think she was the best for the people. So, Ted Kennedy's memory is honored by voting in (my opinion) a teabagging, arrogant, sleaze bag bohunk. "Cut off your nose to spite your face."

Well, while he's bullshitting with the rest of the wacky herd, like Inhofe, Boehner, Bachman--I'm sure he'll represent y'all well--NO TAXES, NO TAXES!!! I'm sure he'll love to do some more of that privatizing, while y'all will still be paying taxes, except for the privileged few.

Isn't it amazing how people can simply forget eight years of a nightmare. You don't improve it by rewarding those who have done the most damage to this country.

31. No, she didn't.
She softened her tone on health care for instance, saying at first she wouldn't vote for it and then that she would. If you want to list what issues she shifted to the Left on you can, of course.

Coakley: No to House bill

BOSTON - Martha Coakley and the three other Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate traded barbs Monday after Coakley said she would have voted against a major health care reform bill because it contained an anti-abortion amendment.

Coakley: ‘Yes’ to health reform bill, even with abortion limits

Boston – Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley (D) – the woman widely presumed to be the Bay State’s next US senator – now says she would support the Senate's healthcare reform bill, legislation she earlier said contained unacceptable restrictions on abortion funding.

55. Only if the middle is populist now.
That would be nice, especially if Democrats learned it. But he ran as a populist, not "to the middle".

But the political climate is not left/middle/right it is people/corporate. The republicons have learned this and are navigating their lies to a new course. Democrats could win it all simply by being true to their real base, the people, and not trying to appease corporate power.

Meanwhile, the rich get richer, the middle class gets poor and the poor get fucking livid.

48. He's doing a hell of a lot better than the last guy.
But he's certainly not living up to his big promise, which is an end to government serving corporate interests at the expense of the people that voted them into power. Dean is right to point that out--I think he's exactly right, and I think a hell of a lot of voters feel the same way.

43. If I had a nickle for all the times I have posted "Principles and Values" for the past year..
Edited on Tue Jan-19-10 09:57 PM by flyarm
When you piss on the principles of the people you represent..do not expect them to vote for you.

Principles matter..I don't give a rats ass if you put hundreds of people on web sites saying otherwise!

New does not mean better..we do not need a "New " democratic party..we need one that respects principles.

President Obama I want you to succeed but not at the cost of my principles being sold out.

President Obama, I want my constitution back ..I don't give a damn what the excuses are..

Stop FISA spying on Americans!

President Obama I want rule of law back in my nation..I don't give a damn who it is, if they broke our laws, I expect them to be held accountable...no excuses.

President Obama, I want these illegal wars ended, now..not later. Enough innocent lives have been snuffed out with our bombs and bullets..enough..stop it now!

President Obama, I want renditions and torture stopped immediately, if not sooner. And I want all involved in both held accountable to the fullest extent of the law!

President Obama scrap this piece of shit Health care bill.It is a disgrace to all Americans!

President Obama, no more back room deals selling us out on our health care!

President Obama ...get our money back from Wall Street and the banks and use that money to put Americans back to work, immediately.

President Obama fire Rahm, Geithner, Summers..tommorrow.

... and never allow another of your appointments to mock liberals and progressives., and stop the hater bullshit words...and the foolish talking points and message board warriors.and the nastiness to fellow democrats, many of whom have worked for the Dem party our entire lives...We have worked against assholes like this for over 8 years and we are in no mood to put up with it, within our own party.

President Obama..this is only the beginning, if you do not heed what we lifelong Democrats are saying ..you will see a bloodbath in November.

Principles matter!
