I saw this happen when the weak Shannon O'Brien lost the governorship to Mitt Romney.

Massachusettsans always like to balance their all-Dem legislature (which doesn't make it liberal) and all-Dem Congressional delegation with a Republican in high office. They've always made that office the governor's (Celluci, Romney). But for the first time since 1986, they have a Dem governor, too. So they sent the senate seat of Teddy Kennedy, which hadn't been open for 47 years, to a Republican. Stupid, but not surprising.

Message of the day to all Dems, Coakley, Rahm, Celinda Lake, national Dem committees, Axelrod, whoever, whatever: Shut the *$%& Up! I don't know how else to say it. I'm watching MSNBC and hearing all the key players dumping on each other. As I've said, the Coakley campaign seems to have been run just terribly. And that's just the beginning of it. But really, with all that's at stake, the White House political office left this to Coakley, unsupervised? Really? I just have very little patience hearing all the people who are by definition all to blame have an argument about who's most to blame.

The Dems should have been a lot more aggressive getting what the country needs passed and not worrying about pissing off the right wingers! The Dems as a whole have sacrificed too much in the name of bipartisanship and are for the most part spineless and weak. The pukes will never ever ever ever try to work with the Dems so stop trying!

18. There are a couple of messages that leadership should take away from it.

1. Get off your asses and get shit done when you have a majority. You were given a mandate to move left and instead of moving left, you moved right and hem hawed around kissing Wall Street, bank, Lieberman and Nelson ass. Not a good idea.

2. Support Democratic candidates long before just the last fews days before election day. Duh, this one should have been obvious. Yet, the DSCC didn't know that for some odd fucked up reason.

3. Quit moving right. Voters can't tell a difference any more between the parties. Both are too busy kissing Wall Street's ass instead of thinking about Main Street. Voters just want change. Voters want jobs.

4. Quit dissing the Left. While courting the right and independents might seem like a good idea (not to me, though) on paper, in the real world, Republicans and Independents will.NOT.EVER.vote Democratic. The Left WILL vote Democratic. See how that works?

5. Wall Street, Republicans, and other conservatives are NOT your friends. The left are NOT your enemies.
