I am so fucking pissed right now.
Words simply can't describe how I feel...

I have always looked up to Ted Kennedy, and considered him a hero of mine.. the fact that a Repuke has now won his seat makes me sick to my stomach. A Repuke taking that seat is a slap in Teddy's face, especially after all the work he did regarding health care.. I am literally in tears right now...

Fuck the DLC.. Fuck Rahm Emanuel, Tim Kaine, and Joe Lieberman... and fuck Coakley for thinking she already had the seat won and not campaigning hard enough until too late.

The outcome of this election has really depressed me.. and doesn't give me much hope for November.. if anyone has any words that can cheer me up right now I would really appreciate it.. because I have lost all hope now!! :grr:

2. Don't mourn -- organize!
It was horrible to see Coleman in Wellstone's seat. But Franken's there now. It goes around and comes around.

7. Exactly!
Crap happens. So we move on and make better things happen FOR us in the future.

Teddy's seat will always BE Teddy's seat. Someone else sitting in the same area does NOTHING to make them an equal in any way. It just means they have a place to rest their butt during sessions.

mad as hell. I can't believe there are that many folks out there who don't see the big picture of this. I keep saying, 'cut off your nose to spite your face' is not a good strategy.

6. I'm down, too. Really think people have lost their minds
Do people remember what happened under Bush?

I'll try to cheer you up, though:

- We'll still pass health care. Even if the weak Senate version has to pass. Needs a LOT of improvement, but still..

- Brown will be up again in 2 years.

- I think we'll see President Obama feistier now

- We have learned valuable lessons to take nothing for granted.

- Should have better Dem. turnout in Nov.

11. Absolutely!
Feel bad for five minutes, then feel good about what CAN be accomplished with new resolve and determination by a Democratic Party that has learned quite a few lessons in the first quarter of its current administration.

14. thanks.. I hope you are right on all counts...
If there is any silver lining in this is it is that Brown's term is not a full term... or even half a term. I think he's going to have a hard time pleasing both his party and Mass. voters, most of whom are moderate... he will find himself in between a rock and a hard place and I will enjoy seeing him squirm...

8. I'm pissed, then sad, then pragmatic, then the cycle begins again. I'm mad
at everyone whether or not they hold any responsibility.

But, this, too, shall pass.

Someone posted about Wellstone's seat going to Norm Coleman (shudder) so this isn't unprecedented. Granted, Wellstone didn't have the long history Teddy did, but he was much loved, too.

Don't give up hope -- Teddy wouldn't. I really believe that. He kept fighting and fighting and that's what we have to do. WE, the little people, can learn from this, and so the process continues.

12. I just can't fathom Ted's seat going R
It's just terrible. We will get it back, though! Too many obviously see little substance in politics or have loyalties, but we can put that to our advantage.

16. Nothing is forever, so yes, we WILL get it back! And we have two years to
make it happen. (That's the good part, only two years!)

9. Americans are stupid.
I said it. It doesn't apply to every one, or even most. But far too many. Oh, look at the shiny object! We've been trained to be idiots.

It is no surprise. A Bush second term, even stolen, was all I needed to confirm it.

13. Basically said that in my last post - too many are stupid politically
But our party can learn and put together soundbites and strategy to match it.
