Unforgivable.
Edited on Tue Jan-19-10 10:50 PM by Naturyl
Massachusetts gave Kennedy's seat to a Repuke. That is unforgivable. Healthcare was Kennedy's dream, and just at the moment progress seemed possible, he was posthumously stabbed in the back by his former constituents.

America now believes that one of the most liberal states in the union has endorsed teabagger insanity. Massachusetts has killed us. Unforgivable.

Unrec all you want, but we all know it's true.

1. I was onced asked to run for public office.
I declined on the grounds that the public is ignorant and I do not want to get stuck like Jimmy Carter with an impatient/irrational public
who cannot see the big picture.

2. A lot of good MA folks didn't vote for the puke
Now isn't ironic that old toast is defending such a blue stronghold?

14. Well
From the looks of the turn out and by the final results a lot of MA folks, either good or bad didn't even vote.... The dems gave it away, she campaigned like a loser and they actually got the president there ONE time for an election they claimed was essential WHAT THE HELL were they trying to do? This wasn't a high school pretend class president election this was for a Senate seat.. that they claim was absolutely necessary .

They now have their excuse they have been looking for to drop all pretense of trying to do anything at all for the people and go back to business as usual with out all the hoopla pretense they have been spouting ...

18. I didn't keep up with the particulars of how the race was conducted
I am just so sad that that seat is not occupied by a liberal Dem. So sad for Massachusetts and so sad for the rest of us.

25. From What
I saw she and the rest of the dems acted as if it was a shoo-in and there was no need to really push and this is the result, it is called complacency.

27. Wake-up call perhaps?
But what an embarrassing one. Dems have to find the right candidate. I understand this was a DLC pick. Do you know if that is right?

INSURANCE PROFIT PROTECTION ACT is (actually the Senate Bill is a worse atrocity than that in MA) and don't believe it should be INFLICTED on the rest of the country.

But he's gone now, and the Senate has Franken.

you shouldn't criticize other states. I am sick of these "Let's blame the whole state, because one candidate didn't win" threads. :puke:

12. A very bad candidate
A lot of anti-Obama and anti-DEM sentiment=a repuke win. Plain and simple. That could happen in any state. But hate away on Mass. and Conn. and every other state because an election didn't go your way.

And like I said in the OP, unforgivable.

22. Are you fucking kidding me?
Of course it belongs to the people. The same people that returned Ted Kennedy for over 40 years. The same people that returned him to office with 77% of the vote last time around. These same people who supported Ted and his health care reform just gave that seat to a fucking Palinesque teabagger. And you are lecturing on what belongs to the people? Really??

I suppose that is the safest time to kick your own friends :eyes:

Nearly half of the Mass. voters who turned out today *did* vote for Coakley. I wish people would get a grip.

Massachusetts have been living a Republican mandatory insurance company's dream for a decade and they've rejected that "dream" for the nation with this election.

and that is why it was lost! That political position was open to the public. Last I heard, no one owned a Senate seat, alive or dead. Believing that mantra is the reason that Teddy now has the GOP dancing on his bones.

DON'T EVER TAKE A POSITION FOR GRANTED.

I talk about it in another post. I am a day trader now. I stake a position, hold it and never take my eye off it. When it turns, I get out and never look back. No one owns shit!
