JEFFERSON CITY | Missouri’s Republican-led House is urging the state’s congressional delegation to vote against a federal health care overhaul.
House members voted 111-46 Tuesday on a resolution encouraging Missouri’s delegation to vote against the health care measure being considered in Washington.
Republicans decried the federal legislation as too big, too expensive, too intrusive in people’s lives and too full of special deals for certain states.
Democratic House leaders accused Republicans of putting on a political show. Still, some Democrats joined them in voting for the measure.
The health care resolution, which is largely symbolic, now goes to the state Senate.
