100,000 votes? Is that really enough to concede on?
52 - 48%. Less than 0.1% for the Libertarian candidate.
A 43% turn out in Boston?

This was a get out the vote defeat, the results however should clearly tell the Democratic Leadership that they need to smack down hard on Democratic Senators blackmailing the Party. Divided Parties do not win elections.

Have fist fights in the Democratic caucus in the House and Senate. Kick the hell out of each other. Once an agreed position is reached - do not publicly give the Republicans a rope to hang the Democratic Party with. The Republicans hung themselves in 2006 and 2008.

Stupak should be punished for what he did. A last minute blackmail going aganst the long held agreed position of the Democratic Party. There are anti-choice members of the Democratic congress, the Party position is however pro choice.

Nelson is now getting voter backlash for what he did. The Party should beat him round the head as well.

Nelson et-al cost the Democratic Party this seat.

Reid also did by giving in to their blackmail.

Let it be a lesson to them.

1. Interesting...
...I don't hear "count all the votes" in this election. I wonder why?!

2. you have no idea what you're talking about.
45% is a high turn out She ran a historically bad campaign. He ran a very good one, and there were many local factors.

5. Have a look at the turnouts
http://www.boston.com/news/special/politics/2010/senate/results.html

I agree she ran a very very bad campaign, not exactly helped by her going on holiday during the election and completely dismissing going and out and meeting voters.

3. It's huge - it's a 5 point margin so YES it IS enough to concede on.

9. It only requires 2% to change.
50,000 votes out of 2 million.

6. Pretty big talk for anyone who watches Party Politics.
Divided Parties do not win. Not exactly a difficult lesson.

7. What is Obama had "only" won by 5,500,000 votes.
Population of MA is roughly 1/50th the USA.

A 110,000 margin of victory in MA is like a margin of victory of ONLY 5.5 million votes nationally.

Should McCain have "stayed in the race" in face of obvious and complete loss.

10. Obviously I ment 5.5 million vote MARGIN not total votes.
Kerry lost by 3 million votes that is roughly comparable to 60,000 in MA.

Brown Margin of victory was roughly double that.

A close election would be like 2000 in which the margin was only 450,000 which would be like a margin of only 9,000 in MA.

If the margin was 9,000 in MA I would be saying contest it but 110,000 which is over 5% margin isn't "Too close to call".

11. I just wonder if Brown would have conceded at this point.
Also the lesson about divided Parties is missed. The Senate Leadership needs to get a grip.

12. Kerry was however within a hairs breath of winning the electoral college.
And there were more than enough States with questionable results.
