In the past, they had no problem voting both for Kennedy and for Reagan (or another Republican.) Now that Kennedy's gone, they have no loyalty to whatever Democrat's in his place.

We have more to worry about from Reagan Democrats and Independents than we do from anyone else.

As beloved as Ted was, he was virtually absent for many many months, and 47 years is probably about 15 too many...for anyone.

When he got the diagnosis he got, he probably should have stepped down then and while he was still relatively healthy, bolstered a successor, and that person might have been serving for a while now, and preparing for 2012.

He was better looking, sounds okay, and drives a truck. In other words, he's the one the voters wanted to have a beer with.

It's sick, but voters still are influenced by superficialities.

the fact that obama has metric assloads of charisma, is very handsome (and has a beautiful family), and is the kind of guy people want to have a beer with, also helped us in his election.

it's ALWAYS been a factor, and always will be.

of course, before television, etc. it wasn't nearly as important.

let's not also forget that nixon's sweat and unappealing visage hurt him immensely and great helped kennedy.

it's a fact of life here, and frankly, in many other countries.
