People aren't happy
People aren’t happy with the Democrats.

People aren’t happy with the Republicans.

People aren’t happy with Federal Government.

People aren’t happy with State Government.

But,

The corporations are happy with all of the above.

The corporations keep us divided, denying the people
a majority against them.

The corporations write all the laws that benefit them, not
the people.

The corporations control what we hear, what we see, through
the media, paper, magazines, television, and radio.

The corporations never die, as long as they are profitable, we do, and
they even invest in our deaths, through the use of peasant insurance.

The corporations do not fight amongst themselves at global levels, they co-operate
with each other and control pricing to get every last dollar from us.

The corporations want us to fight amongst ourselves, so we pay no attention to them,
as long as we are pissed at each other, black and white, rich and poor, union and non union, democrat
and republican, liberal and conservative, gay and straight, Christian and Muslim, whatever and
whomever that needs to be controlled, they quietly, with as little fanfare as possible,
control all that we do to benefit them.

2. My dictionary does not contain such a word.
Google and Wikipedia were no help either.

4. That's because the DLC has done such a good job of keeping it secret.

Few know the truth. Of course you can't find it on Google or Wikipedia, as both are likely controlled by Lysentopolists who wish to keep their philosophy and agenda secret.

10. I think maybe
Edited on Wed Jan-20-10 05:36 AM by TicketyBoo
the poster was going for "licentiopolism," maybe (still not a word), as in licentiousness (unrestrained by law or general morality; lawless; immoral, going beyond customary or proper bounds or limits; disregarding rules).

That's my best guess, anyway.

6. No such woid.
The ignored Reaganite likely spelt it wrong. The closest word is "lycanthrope", which means having characteristics of a werewolf. Don't know if that's what it was going fer. Reaganites tend to act like they're smarter than they actually are.

That's why they're in my Red-X Toilet.

7. They'll never stop hurting us.
Because they know we won't even begin to think about standing up to them. It's far easier for Americans to "just put this in the 'life's not fair' file and move on". See, if this were any other nation, it'd be shut down. Of course, other nations have better social safety nets and universal health care. They're also more unionized. They can't track you down and fire you just because you participated in a protest. This is why their governments fear their people, not the other way around. Americans are far too tethered and in absolute desperate need of their jobs and incomes to stand up for themseleves. That's another thing our great corporations engineered - a forever employers market. Can't have what we did in the mid-to-late 90s, now, can we?

8. While this is partly true...
Edited on Wed Jan-20-10 05:29 AM by LeftishBrit
I take strong exception to some of it. Divisions between black and white, Christian and Muslim, etc. are indeed divisions that others use to 'divde and rule' and I entirely agree that from this point of view to quote a phrase of your Founding Fathers, 'we must all hang together or we will all hang separately'.

But the difference between liberal and conservative is a real one - especially as Americans use the word 'conservative' which basically translates as 'right-winger' elsewhere. Right-wingers *want* the world to be harsher even than it is; *want* poor people to be crushed (see certain right-wingers' vile comments on Haiti as an extreme example); *want* the strong to crush the weak; *want* majority groups to crush minorities. And they turn this into morally righteous ideology: 'personal responsibility'; the dangers of weakening 'the survival instinct'; etc.

We should fight the power of corporations, which has a very great influence in facilitating right-wing policies and helping the rich and 'strong' to rob the poor and 'weak'; but we should not use it as an excuse for neglecting the fight against right-wingers of all brands; still less, should we ever seek to make common cause with far-rightists.

11. It's incredible
how many working class people here are Republicans. It's a rich man's party, and that of the corporations.

There are goodhearted wealthy Democrats, and there are selfish and stupid poor Republicans. That's my only explanation.

Rugged individualists, meaning, "I've got my little piece. That's all I want, and that's all I need, and if you don't have yours, then that's too bad for you."

That about sums it up.

Not community minded. It makes you wonder how people can think that way in this day and age. They are of another time and a place which no longer exists.

9. There are many people who are blissfully happy.
The willfully ignorant and those in terminal denial, of course.

Those who can see?

Not so much.
