A GOOD sign regarding our leadership's reaction to the MA loss
Edited on Wed Jan-20-10 04:18 AM by coti
I watched Rachel Maddow interview Debbie Wasserman Schultz after the election results came in and Schultz made it pretty clear that she thinks the Democrats' agenda needs to return to the populist ideas put forward during Obama's campaign.

She didn't sound very upbeat about healthcare. However, she did say that we should focus on creating jobs, helping homeowners avoid foreclosure and regulating our financial institutions. Moreover, when Rachel asked her what the loss meant for the elections coming in November, Schultz explicitly said that we needed to concentrate on getting the base out to vote.

Of course, Schultz knew she was being interviewed on MSNBC, so take all that with a grain of salt.

quicktime; infrastructure, not just green but also roads, bridges, et al, JOBS, JOBS,and JOBS, some semblence of mortgage and bankruptcy remedies, TAX THE RICH LIKE THEY SAID THEY WOULD . . . TAX THE RICH LIKE THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD,. . . .do it all hard, and fast, and straightforward (no more 1200 page bills), do most of it through reconciliation; make the average joe on both sides of the aisle realize that Dems in charge have made things better.

Then, 2010 will go well, try again in 2011 to pass health care and have something ready, streamlined and clear, that they can work on within the party between now and then, off the books, just a draft, but ready to be presented and debated right off the bat.

My two cents. I know it will never actually happen.

2. Getting out the base to vote? LOL!
Schultz is a fucking idiot! We got out the base. We voted. We won.

We got betrayed by a bunch of spineless corporate ass kissing "democrats".

I'm over it. If I ever vote again, which is highly unlikely, it will be third party.

3. The impression I got was that she meant Obama's policies should give people
a reason to vote.

4. Gee, I wonder if Debbie will be bothered enough...
to actually campaign against any incumbent Republicans this year - ya know, her friends on the Hill? Maybe she'll just quietly endorse their opponents - wouldn't want to upset them too much.
