Starbucks' customers with complex orders may have to shell out a little more for the baristas' trouble.

The coffee chain rolled out a new pricing plan last week, boosting the cost of some menu items by as much as 33 percent in several large U.S. and Canadian markets, according to published reports.

However, customers with simple orders, like plain coffee, were rewarded: They saw prices decreased by around 10 cents, according to the New York Post.

The price of an extra shot of espresso jumped from 55 cents to 70 cents. Adding a shot of syrup to your latte rose 33 percent to 40 cents. For an example of how this can affect a drink's price: ordering the triple grande soy vanilla latte, which was already $5.55, is now $6.25, the paper reported.

2. UNREC who cares about starbucks
making coffee at home is a lot more sensible.
I have never ever had it I make better at home, I dont have to stand in a long line and I cant afford 6$ for a cup of coffee that I can have at home for less than a buck even expresso.
I have more important things to pay for.

8. Doesn't a $6.25 cup of coffee pretty much define "discretionary"?
Either that or it pretty much defines "idiocy".
