On job loss during the Obama Presidency (to date)

This morning on Washington Journal a number of statistics were read aloud that compared things at the betinning of the Obama Administration and now, one year later. Nothing was good. One statistic that stood out was that roughly 1.4 million more people are without work now than on the day that President Obama took office. Now, two hours later the House opens with 1 minute speeches and one of our Representatives reminds us that in January, 2009 seven hundred and fifty thousand jobs were lost.

Really? did I get that right? Is it true that of the total jobs lost during the Obama administration in truth roughly one half of them were actually lost during the last month of the Bush presidency?
