And we sure as Hell don't want conservative policies.
What the People of this country want (what I want) aren't the policies and petty posturing that so many politicians, pundits and posters here at DU seem to think is the foremost thought in every American's mind, what they want are sensible solutions to the problems that affect our country and they want their elected officials to actually carry them out.
Brown didn't win this election but Coakley did lose it. Every exit poll shows that the citizens of MA are disillusioned by the ineptitude of the leaders they voted for a year ago to fix the problems of the previous set of politicians. It didn't matter who was on the ticket, the People of Massachusetts (those silly voters who didn't do what you wanted) were expressing their frustrations with being put second to banks, insurance monopolies Pharmaceutical conglomerates and other corporate entities. They're frustrated by continuing job losses while "American" companies announce new hirings in India and China. They're frustrated because the candidates they put in office have shown absolutely no accountability to them.
Our politicians were elected to do a job they haven't done. They promised solutions but have not had the backbone or even the inclination to carry them out. It can be posted a thousand times that it's only been a year, or it's all Lieberman's fault, or the liberals are causing problems, or we all want our ponies, or now we only have 59 senators instead of the magical 60, but in the end it is the duty of our leaders to lead and they have failed. The People of Massachusetts know this and they acted accordingly.
So continue to bury your head in the sand, Democrats, at your own peril. This was not an isolated incident nor will a meaningless speech or quick sop to the left fix your problems. We the People require real solutions this time and unless you can stand up and provide them, you will lose the privilege to try.
Nearly two-hundred and thirty-five years ago, on April 19, 1775, The citizens of the Massachusetts colony fired the Shot Heard Round the World. Yesterday's vote had the same intention, the question is who will hear it?
