Scott Brown-for-president domain names snatched up before Senate victory

Several Scott Brown-for-president domain names have been snapped up as interest in the charismatic candidate spreads beyond his home state of Massachusetts.

The rights to scottbrown2012.com and scottbrown2016.com were acquired on Tuesday, the day the Republican scored his stunning victory in the race for Sen. Edward Kennedy's (D-Mass) Senate seat. The domain name scottbrownforpresident.com was already taken, having been bought last Friday.

Some conservatives are already talking about Brown challenging President Barack Obama in 2012. Brown would be up for reelection for his new Senate seat that year.

A Tuesday night posting on craigslist.org stated, "Need a great web designer to volunteer their services to create a website to help elect Scott Brown for president in 2012. Only conservatives need apply ... I own 2 superstar domain names ... please email me if you would like to change the direction of America."

Brown pulled off a huge political upset Tuesday by defeating Democrat Martha Coakley and ending the Democrats' filibuster-proof, 60 seat majority in the upper chamber on Capitol Hill.

6. Well, actually...

I'm going to watch this guy closely...Palin, not so much.

Brown has got some sense, is well educated, he's articulate and I believe President Obama, though sad to lose a Democratic seat in the Senate, may very well develop a great deal of respect for this young man.

Whereas Palin has no substance, this man has plenty. Maybe, just maybe, he will become a part of the solution instead of adding to the problem.

I'd be careful before writing this guy off. I'm guessing he's going to replace Palin as the Republican's new rising star...He'll outshine her anyday and if the votes are ripe for the picking, we could see ourselves with another Reagan icon, whether that's good or bad.

Just sayin'.

Perhaps now would be a good time to note that this is a Senate seat once held by John F. Kennedy, Ted Kennedy, Henry Cabot Lodge, and John Quincy Adams, among others.

It now belongs to Scott Brown -- a conservative who supports torture, opposes Wall Street accountability, supports more tax cuts for the wealthy, opposes economic recovery efforts, opposes Ted Kennedy's life's work on health care reform, and doubts that global climate change is the result of human activity.

9. Well, to each his own.

He won the election...deal with it. I personally don't think it's the end of the world.

And by the way, I don't find his stance on the following four issues to be nearly as god-awful as a lot of other Republicans.I'm just saying that maybe there's room for growth here with this man.

Right now, these are some of the things that I worry about when a Republican gets into office.

Note: Isn’t this law very similar to what is being proposed by Congress?

Note: No mention of coat hangers here.

"I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. States should be free to make their own laws in this area, so long as they reflect the people's will as expressed through them directly, or as expressed through their elected representatives." SB
Note: Doesn’t this leave the door open to state laws which could permit marriage equality?
