I'm sorry, that ticks me off.

No excuse! None! Complacency is not an option, guys! Entitlement is doomed to failure! You should know better than that! Aaaaugh! :nuke:

To say that I was stunned would be a gross understatement.

That was pretty stupid
It was an election and the national media coupled with the GOP and their money saw that seat as a trophy seat.

Taking Ted Kennedy's seat and killing the super majority was their motivation.

I would say the entire Democratic Party and the candidate didn't take the election seriously enough.

8. Are you listening, President Obama?
"Massachusetts voters who backed Barack Obama in the presidential election one year ago and either switched support to Republican Senate candidate Scott Brown, or simply stayed home, said in a poll conducted after the election Tuesday night that if Democrats enact tougher policies on Wall Street, they'll be more likely to come back to the party in the next election.

A majority of Obama voters who switched to Brown said that "Democratic policies were doing more to help Wall Street than Main Street."

Firing up the opposition only works if you can fire up your base more. Depressing your base while firing up the opposition is a guaranteed ticket to failure.

16. I'll bet Judd Gregg would have done better at fixing Wall Street...
and then there was the forgiving of Joe Lieberman. Gates still running the Pentagon and Muller running the FBI. All the Bush lawyers still working for the DOJ. The almost totally compromised health care bill. The CEOs still getting the big pay days. Obama hugging W on TV. Harry Reid still as wimpy as ever. letting the wealthy keep their Bush tax cuts and trying to do still more damage to union workers. WTF, has changed?

You can't make deals with political terrorists/neocons...

9. Then they weren't paying attention
It was abundantly clear to many here on DU that Coakley was a weak, clueless, entitled nominee who didn't see any need to have to stump for votes, fer gawd's sake. I mean, she was the Democratic nominee, fer heavens sake, isn't that enough??

Yeah right, Martha.

12. The vote count
2008:
1,104,284 McCain
1,891,083 Obama

1,168,107 Brown + 64,000 more than McCain
1,058,682 Coakley - 830,000 less than Obama
_________

109,325 vote difference

The pubbies got a 10% increase in votes in the off year
and the dems a decrease of almost 40%?

Wow, that's some shift. The numbers seem incredible.

votes were "tabulated" with nontransparent privately owned machines that have a long history of "mistabulation" and proven hackability.

I wouldn't be surprised if a report like "Landslide Denied" were to come out sometime in the future regarding yesterday's "election."

17. 800,000 Voters for Change Stayed Home
John McCain received 1,104,284 vote in the presidential and Brown received 1,168,107 votes.

Obama won 1,891,083 votes in the presidential while Coakley got 1,058,682 in the Senate race.

Did those 800,000 who voted against "The Culture of Corruption" and for change not show up? Sometimes not doing something is a protest too. Dana ; )
