Poll indicates that Massachusetts voters want Democrats to start acting like Democrats
The numbers in the Research 2000 exit poll released Wednesday by MoveOn.org and Democracy for America speak for themselves: The Massachusetts election was not a call to go back to conservatism. ...

* Generally speaking do you think Barack Obama and Democrats in Washington, DC are delivering enough on the change Obama promised to bring to America during the campaign?
Yes 31%
No 57%
Not sure 12%

* Do you think Democrats in Washington, D.C. are fighting hard enough to challenge the Republican policies of the Bush years, aren’t fighting hard enough to change those policies, or are fighting about right?
Not Enough 37%
About Right 21%
Too Hard 15%
Not Sure 27%

* If the Democratic Congress passed a bill that laid down stronger rules of the road for Wall Street and cut bonuses for the executives of companies that received government bailouts, would that make you more likely or less likely to vote Democratic in the 2010 general election?
More likely 53%
Less likely 14%
No effect 33%

* Would you favor or oppose the national government offering everyone the choice of a government administered health insurance plan — something like the Medicare coverage that people 65 and older get — that would compete with private health insurance plans?
Favor 82%
Oppose 14%
Not Sure 4%

12. Yup, sure doesn't look like they're against the public option
And yet they vote for a Senate candidate who will never approve of it.

Solid thinking there, MA "moderates".

16. They actually want something like Medicare for all not just a
public option of any kind! WOW! Yippie!! I never thought it would be that high a percentage in favor.

25. Well, they're still Massachusettians deep down
Even if they do elect someone who pisses on Ted Kennnedy's grave.

21. See how it was framed? Gov't administered, not gov't run. Made the
comparison to Medicare. Choice. Competition. When people understand what it is, they favor a PO or Single Payer.

The Democratic messaging was off, they should have been using this kind of framing all year.

5. But these polls don't file the corporate DLC mantra that Obama has to tack to the right
These poll results will be ignored by our Dem leaders. But these polls are telling the truth and our Dem leaders don't want to hear it.

6. So many of these so-called "Democrats" don't know what the hell they want
They are so angry with the rightward shift of Obama that they elect a guy that's even more to the right of Obama.

Ya....that's the ticket!!

7. When you cross post something, isn't it normal that you don't post content
Just the title, a link to the original DU post and a few of your own comments telling people why they should go there.

I thought it was a great post also.

14. Instead of trying to pass that abomination of a health-care bill,
why not vote it in a piece at a time. Example forbid the insurance companies from dumping anyones insurance because they are sick. Just a plain simple bill without 2000 pages of who knows what. Let the Republicans oppose that. Make another one forbidding the companies from turning a person down if they have a preexisting illness without 2000 pages of bull shit. Let the Republicans come out in opposition to that.

so conservos... did ya really think taking over our party was going to be that simple? One day, I hope to see all involved in jail one day for helping the wealthy class pilfer this nations commons. I'm not the only one that feels this way, and the sentiment is spreading far beyond politics.
