WTF are they letting them get away with this shit?
Never before in the history of the republic has it required 60 votes in the Senate to pass routine legislation, and Harry Reid et al just accept this as a matter of course.
A good part of the reason why nothing seems to get done in Washington is that the Republican party has not been acting in good faith, and our leaders need to be front and center with this message.
Put the bastards on the defensive for once.

3. This healthcare reform bill |
|
is anything BUT "routine legislation." It's the biggest thing we've ever attempted in the history of this nation, and to know that they were voting on it without even having read it (in many cases) is chilling.

6. They should make this a major campaign theme this fall. |
|
The other party should not be rewarded for not only doing nothing, but preventing us from doing anything!

7. I'd like to see the GOP obstruct a jobs bill or the reregulation of the financial system. |
|
They would loose big in the 2010 elections.

8. There is every indication they will do just that. |
|
The question is will the Democratic leadership call them out on it.

10. Hard to do that by compromising with them though..and when the Blue Dogs |
|
keep giving the Republicans cover.
Obama needs to fly into these Blue Dogs states with Air Force One and start interview primary candidates against them to primary their asses. Time to dig up the Johnson Treatment.
