Don't let the GOP have my former seat as well. - email from Robert Wexler
Dear Friends,

In my 13 years in Congress, my seat was generally considered a safe Democratic seat.

But as we saw in Massachusetts last night, there are NO safe seats. No one in politics could have imagined eight weeks ago that the seat held by Ted Kennedy, one of the most progressive leaders in American history, would be won by a conservative Republican. The effect of this loss could be devastating to health care and much of what Democrats are fighting for.

Now those same Tea Bag Conservatives are targeting my old seat in an effort to defeat a very capable and accomplished Democrat, Ted Deutch.

I need your help to make sure that what happened in Massachusetts doesn't happen in Florida.

Please contribute to Ted's campaign here.

Ted's opponents are going to have a lot of help as groups smell blood in the water. They believe they can derail not only health care, but the entire Democratic agenda - leading to gridlock and stagnation until the 2012 elections.

Now - with an open seat and a good deal of momentum - the GOP believes anything is possible. They're organized and coming for Ted. Just today in the Palm Beach Post, GOP leaders said, “If we can win in Massachusetts, we can win anywhere.”

Please donate and help keep this seat secure in the hands of a strong Democrat.

Ted's congressional race is only weeks away and will be the next national barometer for whether America wants an economy that works for everyday Americans (not just big Wall Street banks) and supports true health care reform.

It's time to be vigilant. The entire country is going to be affected by the loss of Senator Kennedy's seat. We must continue to work hard to make sure the same doesn't occur here and in other open or vulnerable districts across the country.

Thank you again for all your best wishes and support.

Congressman Robert Wexler

So have the DLC insisting that the Democratic Party become MORE conservative.

4. Next up: HI01
where Neil Abercrombie is resigning to run for governor.

It's starting to look like all they have to do is crank up the Faux noise machine loud enough and they get an automatic win. Anywhere. :scared:

6. Oh for a few hundred more like Wexler!!! He is a gem, and I miss him.
If by chance he ever misrepresented anything, which I don't know about by the way, it was in order to better serve US.

15. We DO need him, but maybe he felt a stronger pull to work for peace in
the Middle East. I would imagine becoming disgusted with politics after serving in office (I'm projecting). He gave his all for us. But I wish he was still in Congress. :(
