Now They Tell People: Brown Record Does Not Match Campaign
Edited on Wed Jan-20-10 09:48 PM by erpowers
I do wonder why newspapers wait until someone, especially Republicans, is elected to tell voters the person is not being truthful. This morning the Boston Globe printed an article informing people that Scott Brown's record did not match his campaign image. It would have been nice if they had published this article before the election.

The media did the same things the first time Arnonld Schwargenegger ran for governor of California. Throughtout the campaign Schwargenegger claimed he would not raise taxes, would not cut spending on programs popular with California citizens, but would still balance the budget. The day after Schwargenegger was elected every media stations began pointing out that what Schwargenegger had campaigned on was not possible and that Schwargenegger would have to either have the raise taxes, or cut spending in order to balance the budget.

2. Gray Davis told the sheeple that
they had to compromise and cut some spending and raise some taxes. The same thing happened with Corzine in Jersey.
The people demand a pony, and end up with a pile of horse s**t!
The people are willfully ignorant.

3. NBC Evening News said tonight Brown's wife is a local news anchor--anybody

know anything about that?

Maybe that's part of the explanation for his apparent "stealth" candidacy. Some maintain that the media let him get away with depicting Democratic attempts to pin him down on issues as "negative campaigning"--see http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x7513135

4. Well Known Local News Anchor
Brown's wife was a well known local news anchor. Supposedly she did not openly participate in the campaign until election night in an effort not to have a conflict of interest.

7. Thanks--I tried to listen to that speech, but Brown rambled on with one lowbrow irrelevancy
after another. Made Joe the Plumber look like Stephen Hawking.

6. But wouldn't a well-known anchor have many friends and colleagues who might
have given her husband a "free pass", not subjecting him to scrutiny as strict as they would have given another candidate running away from the issues?
