set a withdrawal timetable for bringing our troops home from the Afghan War.

Make job creation and ending war a front and center priority.

Make the above the Democrat's 'Contract With America' but don't wait for the Nov'10 election, start acting on these issues now.

Bring our jobs, bring our troops home.

Appealing to populism is a sure bet and an election winner.

Quit trying to be the party of tomorrow and start fixing what is broken, TODAY!

Imagine if Coakley ran on the above.

2. Would the name "Contract FOR America" be too cheesy?
This definitely should be the platform. Along with REAL health care reform (i.e. medicare for all - and call it exactly that, because the "single payer" name was somehow grossly misinterpreted by "middle America".

8. I just wish the people who were running would start adopting a similar campaign theme.
I'd think their popularity would skyrocket.

Jobs will be a front burner issue that brings people to the polls in Nov.

Dems need to learn to grasp hold of populist ideas and watch their support and popularity surge. I just wish our party leaders would open their eyes.

Welcome to DU.

under the Patriot Act. Problem is, the GOP would just return the favor at next opportunity.

10. Good point, but the GOP will return the favor anyway.
My point, when Dems learn to return favors, they'll once again earn my vote.

Peace.
